The socialist darling candidates are polling fourth in both the UK and the USA. We are as in danger of a communist revolution as we are in danger of a massive global ice age. The people you are worried about exist, and do bad things and have power, but it's more limited than you think.

They want social power, the power to just will someone into annihilation because they don’t have as much social power as you. They don’t want to take control of the tools of the state, they want to make tools stop functioning. They want to drown all useful things in entropy. Their smug Communism gives the inalienable right to do this, and prevents people from being able to form the intent to oppose them.
